VALE DO AMAZONAS FOCUSES ON GROWTH IN THE CHARTER SEGMENT

The company from Amapá State bought 75 Marcopolo and Volare units for the mining segment
Caxias do Sul (Rio Grande do Sul) – April 13, 2021 -While the Brazilian road segment has registered a drop in sales volume due to the novel coronavirus pandemic, the charter sector is still booming in 2021. Marcopolo, leader in the national bus body sector, with a 52.7% market share, is already showing growth in vehicle sales destined for this purpose. Till the end of April, the company will have delivered over 200 units to transport workers in urban areas and in the mining and agribusiness sectors in several states.
In this context and to meet the mobility and safety needs of these professionals, Marcopolo delivered 75 new Ideale model buses and Volare Attack 9 minibuses to Vale do Amazonas, with headquarters in Santana city, Amapá State.
According to Ricardo Portolan, director of MI commercial operations and Marketing at Marcopolo, the vehicles are destined for the mining segment, which is very strong in that region of the country, and will be used for employees’ mines transportation. “Part of this volume was delivered in the Prompt Delivery mode, a program in which Marcopolo continuously invests to meet the specific demands of customers with new buses. The purchase of different models demonstrates the strength of our portfolio, delivering solutions that add to our customers’ operations”, the executive highlights.
Of the total of 75 units for Vale do Amazonas, 45 are Marcopolo’s Ideale model, with a carrying capacity of 48 passengers in Executive seats and have a Valeo 336 air conditioning system and a lift for total accessibility.
Volare Attack 9 Executive
Volare, a Marcopolo´s brand for minibuses, has also expanded its presence in the charter segment and in supplying Vale do Amazonas. Last year alone, 65 units have been delivered. This year, the brand supplied 30 units of the Attack 9 Executive model, with an air conditioning system, Executive seats, total separation wall, luggage compartment and windows with sliding glass.
Vale do Amazonas has been Marcopolo´s customer since 2007 and belongs to a Brazilian business group with over 60 years of experience in passenger transport. It has a fleet of 450 vehicles, serving areas for bus chartering, vehicle rentals and earthmoving, mining and forestry machinery rentals.
